The firehouse is located in Dutchess County in Beacon at 1140 Wolcott Ave., said Beacon Fire Chief Thomas Lucchesi.

"This state-of-the-art facility represents a major step forward in enhancing the city’s emergency response capabilities and improving public safety for Beacon’s residents and visitors," Lucchesi said.

The new firehouse will serve as the headquarters for the City of Beacon Fire Department.

Equipped with modern technology and improved resources, it will help firefighters respond more efficiently and effectively to various emergencies, he added.

The facility features hot, warm, and cold decontamination zones, advanced training spaces, improved apparatus bays, and living quarters designed to enhance the well-being and readiness of Beacon’s firefighters.

Lucchesi said the building is designed with sustainable features that align with the City of Beacon’s environmental goals. It incorporates energy-efficient systems and green building materials, including 21 geothermal wells.

He added that the facility’s layout also supports the all-hazards approach of modern fire departments, allowing firefighters to respond to medical emergencies, fires, rescues, and hazardous materials incidents with improved readiness and efficiency.

A formal grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m.
